Mobility Changes Lives. Donate Today.

Alexandria is a proud Eastern Kentucky native whose life has always been rooted in the outdoors, family, and community. Growing up in Magoffin County and graduating from Prestonsburg High School, she spent her days hiking, swimming, and making memories with friends in the hills she calls home.
From a young age, Alexandria felt a deep calling to help others. That calling led her into healthcare, where she worked as a CNA in both hospital and ICU settings before ultimately achieving her dream of becoming an EMT. She found purpose in the chaos—bringing calm, care, and hope to people on some of the hardest days of their lives.
On March 3, 2024, everything changed. While transporting a patient, the ambulance Alexandria was in was involved in a devastating crash. In an instant, the caregiver became the patient. She sustained severe, life-threatening injuries and spent months fighting for her life—enduring multiple surgeries, time on life support, and a long, grueling road through rehabilitation.
Today, Alexandria continues to rebuild her life back home in Eastern Kentucky. Navigating a rural, mountainous environment in a wheelchair presents daily challenges, but her spirit remains strong. She is driven by her young daughter, supported by her devoted fiancé, and determined to return to the life she loves—one filled with movement, adventure, and the outdoors.
American Mobility Project is proud to announce that Alexandria has been awarded a grant for an iBOT Personal Mobility Device. This life-changing equipment will allow her to navigate uneven terrain, regain independence, and once again take part in the outdoor activities that mean so much to her.
