Audrey was born and raised in Dothan, Alabama, where she built a life centered around family, faith, and service. After high school, she worked in various office roles before meeting her husband, Tim, a flight student stationed at Ft. Rucker. They married in 1995 and have shared over 29 years of marriage, raising four children: David, Anna, Bethany, and Chloe—and recently welcomed their first grandchild, with another on the way!
Audrey devoted much of her early adult life to being a stay-at-home mom. Once her children started school, she began working in education, first as an assistant and later as a teacher at a private Christian school. In 2020, she was promoted to Executive Director of the school. In January 2024, she began a new role as a case manager and social worker with Grace and Mercy in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Audrey’s life took a dramatic turn in May 2024 when she was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury and paralysis from the waist down. After emergency surgery and an intense rehabilitation program at The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, she returned home to Cadiz, Kentucky, in August 2024. Surrounded by the support of her husband, children, and an incredible care team, Audrey has faced her recovery with courage, humor, and unwavering faith in Christ.
Now focused on healing, Audrey has paused her professional career to rest and rebuild. She spends her days baking, reading, learning new crafts like crochet, and enjoying time with her family. With her sights set on mobility tools like an iBOT, she hopes to regain greater access to the activities and lifestyle she enjoyed before the accident. Audrey remains a source of encouragement to others, living by her own advice: choose a positive attitude, push yourself, and don’t be afraid to prioritize your needs. Her greatest dream is to fully reintegrate into her family’s active life—stronger, wiser, and deeply grateful.
At our 2025 Annual Fundraising Banquet, we were thrilled to announce Audrey as the next recipient of a grant for an iBOT Personal Mobility Device. We’re so excited for her to regain greater independence and mobility through this life-changing equipment!
