Mobility Changes Lives. Donate Today.

Tim grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, where faith, family, and community were the foundation of his life. Tim and his wife, Cher, are regular churchgoers who cherish time spent with their children and grandchildren. Whether it is traveling together, attending sporting events, going to concerts, or simply gathering for meals and games, Tim enjoys spending time with his loved ones whenever and wherever. Before his injury, Tim lived an active life, working as a general contractor, enjoying woodworking, fishing, hunting, and caring for his small farm. He especially enjoys riding his tractor and using tools to build something with his own two hands.
In 1995, Tim answered the call to serve his community by becoming a firefighter. Driven by a passion for helping people in both their worst and best moments, he served with the Nashville Fire Department for over 26 years. During that time, he performed emergency medical care, fought fires, and was promoted to engineer in 2006, a role that involved operating and maintaining any fire apparatus. Tim was proud to deliver eight babies during his career and was honored with multiple certifications and awards, including Firefighter I & II, Advanced EMT, and a Unit Citation for his service during the historic 2010 Nashville flood. The greatest lessons he learned on the job were that life is short and incredibly fragile.
On Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, Tim’s life changed in an instant when he was involved in a motor vehicle collision while driving home from church. After nine days in the ER at Tristar Skyline and four months of inpatient rehabilitation at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Tim returned home in August 2024. He is motivated daily by his faith and the love and support of his family; especially his wife, Cher, and his children, whom he calls his heroes.
Today, while Tim can navigate inside his home, the outdoors is largely inaccessible. He is currently unable to navigate his yard, care for his animals, or play with his grandkids outside. With the help of advanced mobility equipment like the iBOT, Tim hopes to regain that independence. Physically, it would allow him to return to caring for his property and animals. Mentally and emotionally, it would mean reconnecting with the world he loves and feeling productive again.
His message to others: “Turn it over to God and keep praying. Life can change in the blink of an eye—so make it count.”
American Mobility Project is excited to announce that we are partnering with the Gary Sinise Foundation to provide Tim a grant for an iBOT Personal Mobility Device! We are so excited to see Tim get back to enjoying the outdoors!
